Court fees for new filings, judgements, or other fees can be paid in person, online, or by phone. Please see the options below for instructions on how to make a payment.
Notice: Only the required filing fee should accompany new filings. Once a case is filed, do not submit checks for docketing, etc., until the fee is required, i. e., after the judgment, is entered. These checks will not be retained by the Clerk of Circuit Court but returned if submitted prior to being required. If a check needs to be returned and there is no stamped, self-addressed envelope provided, postage and handling will be charged to return the check.

You may pay by cash, check money order, or credit/debit card with a convenience fee (Card type accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) at the designated windows in the Clerk of Court's Office. Make checks payable to "Clerk of Courts."

The Dane County Clerk of Circuit Court now accepts credit or debit card payments through allpaid's GovPayNow System, a third party agency. Payments can be made using Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Credit or Debit cards. Payments may be made online or by phone 24 hours a day.
Payments can be made for citations, fines, costs, attorney fees, mediation fees, guardian ad litem fees, juvenile legal fees, electronic monitoring fees, custody study fees, and copy and search fees.
Filing fees can not be paid online.

Review your citation to make sure it states an address of “Dane County Circuit Court” and/or “215 South Hamilton Street”. If the citation has another municipality’s address on it instead of the one listed above, you must contact that municipality directly about their payment options. Payments that are supposed to be made to other municipalities will not be accepted by the Dane County Clerk of Courts.
Also if the debt you are paying is at collections, you cannot make your payment through allpaid. Payments made through allpaid for debt at collections will not be accepted by the Clerk of Courts. You must contact the Dane County Clerk of Courts Collections for payment information at (608) 266-4311
