Located across from St. Raphael’s Cathedral, a county parking ramp now occupies the space. Efforts to make the courthouse an historical landmark failed and it was eventually demolished.

To the right is the county jail, where, until 1940, the Sheriff and his wife lived in an attached house. The Sheriff’s wife was the jail’s cook and housekeeper.
